Baby Incubators

The baby incubator was and is an ingenious idea, with its ability to keep premature babies alive and healthy, it has stayed in use for a century and a half.

The baby incubator put air over a heater and water so the air could have a contolled temperature and humidity. The incubator has kept thousands of babies alive who otherwise would have died. In the 1904 World's Fair however, there was a problem. Because Martin Couney wasn't picked to bring the incubator to the US, most of the babies on died from neglect. Post Baby-death, Dr. John Zahorsky was put in charge, greatly decreasing the baby mortality rate.
